\nEnough is enough is ENOUGH!<\/strong><\/p>\n

I am running this column again because some people have asked me why I have blocked them<\/span>\u2026<\/p>\n

Darts and politics don\u2019t mix!\u00a0 Not in my world anyway\u2026<\/p>\n

\u201cFor some time,\u00a0I have been working on a column, struggling…” I wrote to a friend recently.<\/p>\n

Writer\u2019s block?\u00a0 No. \u00a0I never have a problem putting words to paper.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s worse\u2026<\/p>\n

Although I don\u2019t throw competitively much these days most of my closest friendships date to the many years I was deeply involved – four or five nights a week at league or blind draws, weekends at tournaments.<\/p>\n

What I cherished most during all those years was the one constant<\/span>: it was always about the\u00a0darts<\/em><\/strong>.<\/p>\n

We could and did talk\u00a0to death<\/em>\u00a0every conceivable darts-related subject.<\/p>\n

We didn\u2019t know what each other did for a living.<\/p>\n

We didn\u2019t know who was rich or poor.<\/p>\n

We certainly didn\u2019t know anything about each other\u2019s politics.<\/p>\n

We didn\u2019t care<\/u><\/strong>!<\/strong><\/p>\n

Darts was about darts.\u00a0 And beer.<\/p>\n

This was special.\u00a0 We had the sport in common and that was pure.\u00a0 That was enough.<\/p>\n

Facebook and the past 10-12 years of political division have changed all of this. \u00a0I hate it.<\/p>\n

Today, I will begin what I have resisted for so long, not wanted to do.<\/p>\n

Everyone is entitled to their opinions.\u00a0\u00a0But the only opinions I care about from darts friends are\u00a0opinions about darts<\/em><\/strong><\/span>.<\/p>\n

Effective today, any \u201cfriend\u201d who shares a political opinion (whether I agree or not) which shows up on my newsfeed or in any darts forum to which I belong will be unfriended or blocked or whatever.<\/p>\n

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH OF ALL THIS HATRED!<\/strong><\/p>\n
