Darters set to help citizens of Flint, Michigan."},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Tuesday, May 3, 2016<br \/>\nColumn 515<br \/>\nThe Countdown is ON.\u00a0 Darters set to help citizens of Flint, Michigan.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Just 30 days remain until<\/strong> the <em>Michigan Cup \u2013 a Benefit for the People of Flint<\/em>. Organized by the Michigan Dartsmen\u2019s Club – special thanks to Quoc-Huy-Ly-Huynh (aka Willy Doit), Kory Nichols and John Upham – the (team) event will be held, in Flint, Michigan, on <strong>Saturday, June 4th<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>The site is the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, 2149 North Dort Highway. The doors open at 10:00 a.m. The first dart will fly promptly at 11:00 a.m. The format will be similar to the PDC World Cup with pool play followed by bracket play.<img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft  wp-image-3999\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/dartoidsworld.net\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Flint-flier-232x300.jpeg?resize=269%2C348\" alt=\"Flint flier\" width=\"269\" height=\"348\" \/><\/p>\n<p><strong>Entries will be capped at 24 teams and the lineup is half full at this writing<\/strong>. Even the Action Dads, Gordon Dixon and D.J. Sayre, are going to venture to the “state up north” to give it a go.<\/p>\n<p>The entry fee is $120 per team. Payments should be sent (team name and pre-registration must be received by <strong>May 13<\/strong>) to Doit, c\/o Grand Rapids Ophthalmology, 6050 Northland Dr., Suite 100, Rockland, MI 49341. Alternatively, you can register or donate through the Michigan Dartsmen\u2019s Club via PayPal at\u00a0<span style=\"color: #333399;\"><span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"http:\/\/www.paypal.me\/michigandartsmensclu\">Michigan Dartsmen\u2019s Club<\/a><\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>Full participation payout will see first place pocketing $2,000, followed by $200 for second and $100 for third and fourth. Funds raised from registration, guest attendee donations, and activities during the day will benefit the citizens of Flint via the <span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><a style=\"color: #ff0000;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fbem.org\">Food Bank of Eastern Michigan<\/a><\/span>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Time is running short to register a team so act fast<\/strong>.
