sent to another individual…)<\/p>\n<p><em>I have been informed there has been some type of overthrow of sorts and Howie is making all the final decisions for the Golden Age Reunion.\u00a0 Howie needs to contact me ASAP if we are going to get this sorted out.\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There was nothing to \u201csort out\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Stoner was misinformed…<\/p>\n<p><em>Yeah, Howie needs to call me like yesterday because this whole thing is on the brink of blowing up in their face and the ADO will not be made to look like the bad guys.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A darter’s reply…\u00a0<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Seriously?\u00a0\u00a0Did I read that correctly?\u00a0\u00a0I don’t know Matt Stoner, but he should do stand-up comedy<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Stoner, on the phone…<\/p>\n<p><em>So, you, Howie Reed, are attempting to run a tournament at the only tournament the ADO runs?\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Howie:\u00a0<em>Yes, but\u2026\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Stoner:\u00a0<strong><em>I\u2019m<\/em><\/strong><em>\u00a0asking the question here!<\/em><\/p>\n<p>(It’s always good to know who’s “in charge”!\u00a0\u00a0So much for “sorting\u00a0things out” with Mr. Stoner – that’s like trying to ask a question of the January 6<sup>th<\/sup>\u00a0committee.)<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Stoner:\u00a0<em>Unless you apologize for your bashing of the ADO and the money you (Howie) have cost them the ADO will not allow any events in the venue<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>(For the record, the ADO sued\u00a0<em>me<\/em>\u00a0in the middle 1990s – some 30 years ago, possibly before Mr. Stoner was even born.\u00a0 Apologize – that is impossible – due to\u00a0<em>principles<\/em>, a term the ADO Board doesn’t understand.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Never<\/em>\u00a0apologize for telling the truth.\u00a0 <em>Never<\/em> apologize for defending yourself – as in this case against a lawsuit filed by the ADO Board after they were (wrongly) convinced they could take me for a lot of money.\u00a0 The case was settled – no money changed hands.)<\/p>\n<p>I put down the phone after politely replying to Mr. Stoner (although\u00a0I may have, or\u00a0<em>should<\/em>\u00a0have, questioned his intentions, or principles) and wished him a nice day.<\/p>\n<p>Within an hour the ADO posted a statement.\u00a0 All are encouraged to read it.\u00a0 It would make\u00a0Joseph Goebbels proud.\u00a0\u00a0Some excerpts…<\/p>\n<p><u>The ADO fiction<\/u>.\u00a0\u00a0<em>What we heard was that<\/em>\u00a0<em>Reunion \u201crepresentatives\u201d had contacted the Tuscany hotel in order to acquire an extra meeting room or two.\u00a0 …we wouldn\u2019t have had any issues with that, except that they claimed to be from \u201cthe ADO\u201d and obviously expected the ADO to foot the bill!\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><u>The FACTS<\/u>.\u00a0 We asked to\u00a0<em>rent a room\u00a0<\/em>and use the ADO\u2019s existing bar so they would not lose revenue.\u00a0 The\u00a0Tuscany salesperson said she would call back.\u00a0\u00a0She never did.\u00a0 At NO time did the Reunion Committee ask the ADO to cover the bar cost nor did anyone on the Committee represent themselves as \u201cThe ADO\u201d.\u00a0 That is a lie.\u00a0<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><u>The ADO fiction<\/u>.\u00a0<em>\u00a0We fully supported the original idea – and still do – but there is no way that we can allow an independent group <\/em>(to)<em> jeopardize the smooth running of an established world-ranked tournament! \u00a0Furthermore, we certainly will not allow them to procure ADO members\u2019 funds for their own use.<\/em><\/p>\n<p><u>The FACTS<\/u>.\u00a0 So, this “group” by accepting\u00a0<em>your offer<\/em>\u00a0of 1-6 boards on Saturday after the first round of your mix triples would\u00a0<em>jeopardize the smooth running of an established world-ranked tournament (and)\u00a0we certainly will not allow them to procure ADO members\u2019 funds for their own use.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>A “world-ranked” tournament?\u00a0\u00a0WDF world points?\u00a0 A player garners valuable WDF points so they can pay their own way to Europe.<\/p>\n<p>The Reunion Committee never asked for nor wants\u00a0ONE DIME FROM THE ADO.\u00a0\u00a0As the ADO runs the tournament, have they ever – in the past 20 years – published a financial statement for the members?<\/p>\n<p>How\u2019s that little problem with the IRS?<\/p>\n<p>And finally,\u00a0<u>more ADO fiction<\/u>.\u00a0\u00a0<em>Therefore, it is with great regret that we have to withdraw our initial offer of room, tables and dartboards for the use of the Reunion<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><u>Well, actually, this statement is factual<\/u>\u00a0– not that the ADO ever wholeheartedly supported the Reunion, they have indeed turned their backs on the Reunion and the very players who supported the ADO from its very inception so many years ago.<\/p>\n<p>But the ADO is mistaken if they think that without their support there will be no Reunion.<\/p>\n<p>The ADO has absolutely\u00a0no effect on the Reunion.\u00a0 In fact, it is the other way around – it is the Reunion which will be\u00a0delivering people to the ADO’s tournament, increasing bar and room\u00a0revenue.\u00a0\u00a0The only cost to the ADO is courtesy of which they have little.<\/p>\n<p>The ADO, via Mr. Stoner, has used more stalls than the backside of a racetrack to throw a spanner in the works of the Reunion.<\/p>\n<p>A while back, Russ Lopez contacted Mr. Stoner.\u00a0 Mr. Stoner offered the Reunion the use of the ADO 800 number for reservations (like we needed his permission), tables in the venue and 1- 6 boards for a Saturday Blind Draw (the later as per an email from Chuck Hudson on October 16).<\/p>\n<p>Then Mr. Stoner said,\u00a0<em>Now,\u00a0<\/em>(that)\u00a0<em>we have given you something you have to give us something.\u00a0 Stop Howie Reed from bashing the ADO.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There it is sports fans.\u00a0 Howie Reed is \u201cDr. Evil\u201d. \u00a0<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Russ\u00a0called Mr. Stoner\u00a0numerous times and received no reply.\u00a0 The Reunion Committee attempted to rent a room and use the existing ADO bar.\u00a0\u00a0Russ reserved (and confirmed) a hospitably suite.<\/p>\n<p>Then, like\u00a0magic…<\/p>\n<p>Mr. Stoner finally called Russ “informing” that no suite would be available and accused the Reunion Committee, when trying to rent a room, of attempting to make the\u00a0ADO responsible for the bar!<\/p>\n<p>Again, from the ADO statement, …<em>we wouldn\u2019t have had any issues with that except that they claimed to be from \u201cthe ADO\u201d and obviously expected the ADO to foot the bill<\/em>!\u201d\u00a0 A blatant LIE – and they know it.\u00a0 At no time did we ever represent ourselves as the ADO.<\/p>\n<p>Perish the thought!<\/p>\n<p>The Reunion Committee did acquire a suite.\u00a0 I, Howie Reed, personally went to the Tuscany to check out the suite and see if it were possible to create a semi-private area using dividers.\u00a0\u00a0The suite was in a separate building.<\/p>\n<p>I asked if it could be moved.<\/p>\n<p>I was advised of the procedures and took notes.\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0I then spoke with the gentleman in charge of facilities, asking him if dividers were possible.\u00a0 I told him (Lance was his name) that Chuck Hudson suggested I speak with him directly.<em>\u00a0<\/em><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Afterwards, I immediately called Chuck to bring him up to date on my visit…<\/p>\n<p>When I finished, he said,\u00a0<em>let me tell you what\u2019s happening…\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>I learned that Mr. Stoner had sent Chuck the following…<\/p>\n<p><em>Howie Reed wants to open a bar at the Las Vegas Open – he\u2019s trying to cut side deals and he told the Tuscany that Vice President of the ADO Chuck Hudson sent him<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Either Mr. Stoner was misinformed (always a good excuse) or he\u2019s a BALD-FACED LIAR.\u00a0 Even Vergas Sports Book wouldn\u2019t take that bet.<\/p>\n<p>The Dave Kelly Memorial Senior Open will be held Friday, January 20 at a Las Vegas darts venue.\u00a0 The Senior Open is for Men 65-75.\u00a0 There will be a Women\u2019s 50+ event (no proof of age required) plus an Open Event for Men 76+ and women 65+.\u00a0\u00a0The venue for Saturday\u2019s \u201cdraw\u201d event will be announced shortly.\u00a0<em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Stoner:\u00a0<em>\u00a0If Howie doesn\u2019t contact me\u00a0today,\u00a0we will release our statement.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Good for them.<\/p>\n<p>When asked to comment Dr. Evil, Howie Reed, said…<em><br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>It just proves that no good deed goes unpunished.\u00a0 We’re pulling in people that would never attend the ADO event.\u00a0 They\u2019ll bring money for rooms, beverages and food.<br \/>\n<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>These self-appointed arrogant ADO \u201cleaders\u201d have forgotten that it was the geezers\u00a0that helped build the ADO – which the ADO “executives\u201d\u00a0then p***ed away, turned into a laughingstock.\u00a0 They are as irrelevant to darts as the WNBA is to
